I agree that some info on big-time surfers should be included, but something about clans as well. If you have any good resources for this or info from personal memory please let me know.

From my experience, these are clans that you see the most on KSF CSS that have at least a few decent members:
κѕғ - used to invite only really good surfers, now mostly focuses on community contributors but still has many decent surfers.
    http://steamcommunity.com/groups/KSFClan

им - this clan is the only one that only invites really good surfers afaik, there are still a few people that aren't amazing anymore but were long time ago.
    http://steamcommunity.com/groups/nmsurf

иuяd - don't know much about them, I just see them often. I know greenvoid from that clan and he's pretty good.
    http://steamcommunity.com/groups/nerdsurf

иѕ - propably one of the newest clans that I had the chance to observe from it's very beginning. At the moment when they created the clan they weren't / were barely able to complete the easiest T6 maps, now some of them complete the hardest maps / bonuses / get top10s
    http://steamcommunity.com/groups/NobodySurfing

Someone might help you with other clans, I was inactive for past few months so I'm not really updated on the current state.

The CSS skillsurf clans you would actually want to mention in any kind of surf history are KSF (with a mention to fragg co who ride low), sV (with a mention to sG), EGI, NM, intox, sI, PW, maybe sR. For tricksurf I don't really know many except for xdream and nightmare but theres probably others. I don't know anything about CSGO or TF2 clans.

Probably mapping groups and hubs like solidsurf, brokensurf etc too

edit: also you'd have to mention the ancient combat surf clans too as well as the super popular servers like DragonRock

K well you literally made up that entire description of KSF / NM then, and I have no idea why you would mention completely random new clans rather than clans that were massive like intox, sV, EGI, sI who all had amazing surfers, produced amazing maps and had entire communities built around them if you've been surfing that long. sV was p much at the forefront of the skillsurf hype for ages, sI had some of the best surfers at that time + mappers like Sandman/Ridder/ptad{?}/Fission, EGI had the first competitive surftimer server which was the predecessor to KSF's etc.

    wtf are nurd and ns?
